To celebrate the company’s 2015 anniversary, BASF SE overhauled the history segment on display at its visitor center in Ludwigshafen.
Saatchi & Saatchi Pro and m box Bewegtbild jointly developed a contemporary digital installation solution that reminds of analogue history books.
The exhibit, which looks like an oversized library wall, consists of 5 “books”—interactive touch screen installations—allows visitors to explore the rich history of BASF from its beginnings to the current days, retrace intriguing historic developments, view images and videos and request further related information.
The major and most visually striking exhibit, an “open book”, consists of 6 interactive Full HD screens, showing off a chronological timeline of the company’s 150+ year history in an emotional and attractive way.
While these exhibits are located in Ludwigshafen/Germany and in Istanbul/Turkey, they also traveled the world as flexible, easilily configurable mobile exhibits during a global road show.
Besides concept development, m box also handled all visual design, UX and UI development and programming of this complex history installation. It also features a full-fledged content management system (CMS) to maintain the comprehensive data sets that are displayed in the front end.
